Questions & Answers about the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen

  • Do I have to commit to a specific programme in advance or can I decide this on site?

It makes sense to decide on one of our programmes when you make your reservation, as we will then be able to provide you in advance with all the important information (for example, for your cure preparation at home) on time. The specific treatments within the framework of the booked programme are determined by the Ayurvedic practitioner during the initial consultation. In doing so, he takes into account your constitutional type and current state of health and designs an individual treatment plan that is tailored to your specific needs. Individual adjustments of the booked programme will be charged according to the valid price list.

  • Can I also book a stay without Ayurveda treatments and only book the overnight stays and the Ayurvedic full board?

Of course, you can also book a stay without Ayurvedic treatments and just enjoy our delicious Ayurveda Cuisine, relax in the special atmosphere of our house, bring body and soul into harmony with the daily group yoga and meditation sessions or deepen your Ayurvedic knowledge listening to the lectures of our Ayurveda experts.

Please note that as a pure Ayurveda hotel, we serve all our guests vegetarian and easily digestible Ayurveda Cuisine, regardless of whether you are receiving Ayurvedic treatments. In addition, we offer only herbal teas and hot water, no alcoholic drinks, coffee or black/green tea as well as no cold or soft beverages.

  • Is it possible to book a stay for a group?

Yes, it is possible to book a group-stay for max. 6 people (for example family or friends). However, we do not grant a group discount.

  • Can I put together a treatment programme myself?

The Ayurvedic treatments have empirically a very profound effect. Therefore, it is up to the Ayurvedic practitioner to put together a treatment programme tailored to your health needs. Individual wishes and preferences are taken into account as far as possible, if from an Ayurvedic medical point of view nothing speaks against it.

  • Can I spontaneously book treatments on site?

The Ayurvedic treatments have empirically a very profound effect. A spontaneous booking is therefore only possible after prior consultation with the Ayurvedic practitioner and also depends on the capacity of our therapy area. Especially during the high season, we recommend an early consultation and reservation.

  • Why are the Ayurvedic treatments only possible after a consultation with the Ayurvedic practitioner?

Experience has shown that Ayurvedic treatments have an intensive and profound effect on the organism. In order to exclude contraindications, a previous consultation with an Ayurvedic practitioner at the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen is standard. As a trustworthy provider in the field of Ayurvedic medicine, we can therefore make no exceptions, even for our regular guests or guests who feel healthy and fit.

  • Are there any cases where Ayurvedic treatments are not possible?

Yes, there are a number of contraindications to the practice of Ayurvedic treatments.
    These include, among others:

    • acute colds
    • acute infections
    • acute bone fractures
    • acute relapses of chronic diseases
    • antibiotics and cortisone intake (also recent)
    • recent surgical procedures
    • chemotherapy
    • pregnancy

During menstruation, Ayurvedic treatments can only be carried out to a very limited extent.

For a detailed list of all contraindications, please contact our reception team. For questions and uncertainties, we will advise you in detail, without obligation, and discreetly about your ability to participate in the programme. Please contact us directly at our Ayurveda medical office under +49(0) 6541-705-230 or by e-mail to ayurmed (at) parkschloesschen.de.

  • Should I prepare for a Panchakarma cure at home?

Yes, absolutely, because the pre-cure at home is an important part of a complete Panchakarma cure. We recommend that you book your stay at least 4 weeks before you travel, so that you have enough time for an effective preparation at home. Precise instructions for the preparation of the treatment (for example gentle diet and lifestyle change) will be sent to you after the reservation has been made together with the booking confirmation.

  • What do I have to consider after a Panchakarma cure?

The post-cure at home is an important part of a complete Panchakarma treatment and contributes to the integration of your cure’s success. It should ideally be twice as long as your stay at the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen. Detailed recommendations will be provided during your stay.

  • What is my daily routine during a Panchakarma cure?

There is no such thing as a "typical" daily routine because your daily appointments depend on your individual treatment plan and development of your cure. As a rule, you have at least one treatment appointment per day. Additionally, you have Ayurvedic meals at regular times and intermittently your Ayurvedic medical consultations. You also have the opportunity to participate in our free daily Yoga and meditation sessions or to take advantage of our extra offerings. Here are some examples: natural cosmetic treatments, craniosacral or physiotherapy or participation in our Ayurveda cooking workshops. Every evening, our Ayurveda experts give lectures on changing topics. Often, however, as a result of the Ayurvedic treatments, you will feel a great need for rest during your stay, which you most certainly should indulge in. Your body needs the rest for regeneration.

  • Can I do sports during the Panchakarma cure?

Our experience is that the Ayurvedic treatments have a profound effect. Often during your stay, you feel a great need for rest, which you should indulge in any case, because your body needs the rest to cope with the inner detox processes and regeneration. For this reason, you should refrain from physical exertion during the treatment if you are not used to regular exercise. On most days, however, nothing speaks against a short walk or participation in group yoga.

  • What are detox drinks?

This generic term includes both herbal detox drinks and the Ayurvedic Ghee (pure butter fat). Herbal detox drinks contain spices and herbal blends, whereas Ghee is of animal origin. Both variants are used in the first phase of the treatment to free possible metabolic residues from the body cells. Thus, we speak of the so-called "Ghee or detox days". Which detox drink you will receive, determines the Ayurvedic practitioner during your initial consultation.

  • Why does full board cost €85 per day, if on some days I am not allowed to attend breakfast or only soup is served?

All our meals are prepared fresh every day, the ingredients used and all the food and drinks offered in the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen are almost exclusively from certified organic producers. The price for our Ayurvedic full board is understood as a mixed calculation. Naturally, special diet plans based on the course of the cure were taken into account.

  • I want to reduce my weight. With what result can I count on after a 10-day cure?

As an esteemed provider of Ayurvedic cures, we cannot promise that you will lose a certain amount of weight during a specific cure and time frame. How much weight you lose depends on many factors, e.g. your individual constitution and your current state of health. In any case, address your wish during the initial consultation with the Ayurvedic practitioner. He can work with you to decide if a Kapha diet is possible during your stay. In fact, most Panchakarma guests lose a few kilos due to the diet change and other cure procedures.

  • What are the advantages of a Panchkarma cure in Germany as compared to India or Sri Lanka, the countries of its origin?

  • At what age is it possible to stay at the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen? Can I bring my child?

In contrast to many other Ayurveda providers who have positioned themselves more in the wellness sector, our offer is aimed exclusively at guests who are interested in an Ayurveda programme under professional Ayurvedic medical guidance and in-depth Ayurvedic treatments. Due to the intensity of our Ayurveda programmes and the associated need of our guests for rest, is a stay for children from 16 years possible. Also visits of younger children are unfortunately not possible.

  • Can I bring my dog to the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen?

Due to the intensity of our Ayurveda programmes, our guests have a very large need for rest. As a future guest, we recommend that you concentrate on yourself during your cure and better leave your dog in good hands during your Ayurveda stay. Further, we have very many guests with various health conditions, including allergies and skin problems, so that a stay with a dog in our hotel is unfortunately not possible.

However, we are happy to recommend a dog kennel in our area, with which many of our guests have already had good experiences.

  • Why is there no Wi-Fi in the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen?

As a place of rest and relaxation we would like to offer you space for a real time OFF, in the sense of Digital Detox, during your stay. It has been our experience that in this way it is much easier for our guests to break away from their smartphones for a while and find a new form of self-awareness.

In addition, we try to minimize disturbing influences caused by electromagnetic radiation. For these reasons, we consciously do without Wi-Fi in Ayurveda Parkschlösschen.

  • Is there a dress code?

We kindly ask you not to be in your bathrobe in the public areas of the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen (lobby, restaurant). Of course, this does not apply if you are on the way to the Ayurveda therapy department or Veda Thermal Baths or want to pick up your morning detox drink in the restaurant. Feel welcome to wear normal streetwear at your meals. Evening wear is not required.

  • What is the average age of the guests in the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen?

Most guests at the Ayurveda Parkschlösschen are between 40 and 65 years old. However, with the growing social health awareness in recent years, we also observe a significant increase in younger guests who find their way to us. There is virtually no upper age limit. Our oldest regular guest, who has visited us for many years, and is now 92.
